Kaiteriteri has considerable historic significance as the first meeting place between t ngata whenua and representatives of the New Zealand Company whose sole purpose was to colonise a ’new’ country. All lands of the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve and Kaka Point Historic Reserve are of historic and cultural importance to t ngata whenua. In 1916, farmer Syd Rowling, bought 136 acres of thick gorse covered land at Kaiteriteri as an extension to his orchard property in Riwaka. On 28th January 1936, the future of Kaiteriteri as a holiday destination was confirmed in a public meeting where Syd Rowling was nominated as the first chairman of the new Kaiteriteri Domain Board and was joined by half a dozen other prominent local people.
During the 1930’s Great Depression, the Government used the available labour to finish the road from Riwaka to Kaiteriteri which finally eased the long journey across the mudflats at low tide

Stage 1 took in the final part of skulduggery, stage 2 through Repair and Shady lady and Stage 3 of course Jaws, with the base section of Large Airs thrown in. We now allow biking inside the camp and we wish to see kids enjoying their bikes. There has been a lot of labor throughout 2016 to improve our present with major investment into recruitment, our fresh premium apartments, fresh store, conference facilities, Newbook booking software, website, information technology, Bi Bi, health safety, ND petrol station and of course the world class Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park. The Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve is a unique destination located in the scenic Tasman region at the top of Fresh Zealand’s dazzling South Island. Our new premium holiday apartments are open, looking huge and have received amazing feedback.
Booking Policy There has been a insignificant confusion among some of our regular guests around our re booking loyalty policy. At Kaiteriteri Pleasure Reserve we have a range of jobs from seasonal to all year. Next steps include addressing parking capacity, Shoreline Restaurant, improving the estuary as a conservation recreation resource and improving the connection between the bike park and the beach. Tasman District Council is holding a family bike ride at Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park on Sunday 11 December from 11am.
KAITERITERI RESERVE CAMP The camp still has the identical relaxed feel and gregarious atmosphere as it has everlasting had, with guests catching up with friends, barbecuing and sharing a few.
